Release Day Blitz: Priceless by Raine Miller

at 9/11/2014 01:04:00 AM 0 comments

Ivan Everley, 13th Baron Rothvale, would admit he's the last person on
earth who should have custody over a priceless collection of art. British law
affords him the title of 'Lord,' but underneath all the trappings he's just a
regular guy, despite being a world champion in archery, and certain...proclivities of a private nature. But Ivan's public celebrity is merely a sham--a carefully guarded secret borne out of the pain of betrayal. Even his cousin Ethan Blackstone doesn't know the truth behind the man he considers a brother.

Lord Rothvale has a plethora of problems piled up to his aristocratic eyeballs, but that doesn't stop him from complicating his world further when a beautiful art conservationist shows up to appraise his inherited collection of paintings. Once Ivan gets a taste of Gabrielle Hargreave, mistaken identity or not, he can't think of anything but how good the green-eyed beauty felt in his arms.

The chase is on, and Ivan's dominant side isn't taking 'no' for an answer--but yet, Gabrielle might just teach our discontented lord a thing or two about life, and about himself, and help them both discover the undeniable truth in what it means to find something genuinely... priceless.

Raine Miller has been reading romance novels since she picked up that first Barbara Cartland book at the tender age of thirteen. And it's a safe bet she'll never stop, because now she writes them too! Granted Raine's stories are edgy enough to turn Ms. Cartland in her grave, but to her way of thinking, a hot, sexy hero never goes out of fashion. A former teacher, she's now writing sexy romance stories full time. She has a handsome prince of a husband, and two brilliant sons to pull her back into the real world if the writing takes her too far away. Her sons know she likes to write stories, but gratefully have never asked to read any, thank God! Raine loves to hear from readers and to chat about the characters in her books. DAY 8 Blog Tour Post: Rare and Precious Things by Raine Miller

at 3/04/2014 01:00:00 AM 0 comments

(The Blackstone Affair Book 4)

The fourth part in the New York Times bestselling series, The Blackstone Affair: A bright beginning for two damaged souls fighting for their hard-won love, and the promise of a new hope to secure their happily ever after.

Fresh from an idyllic honeymoon along the Italian coast, the Blackstones prepare for the birth of their precious baby and the challenges of settling into a new home. But things get complicated when specters from the past reappear to threaten the very foundation of their relationship. Ethan and Brynne will have to fight harder than ever for each other. Rare and Precious Things is the story of two people who both need the other in order to be complete, but learn just how "rare" their brand of love is when they have to risk everything in order to hold onto it.

“BELLA, you look magnificent, the glow in your cheeks, everything, is utter perfection.” Marco, kissed me on both cheeks as was custom, then held me at arm’s length for a thorough perusal. “Lovely dress. I can see that marriage and motherhood is agreeing with you, darling.”

I felt Ethan’s hand at my back soften and relax at Marco’s friendly, but appropriate greeting. Maybe he’d get over his paranoia that Marco was trying to bag me every time he photographed me. Ethan just didn’t understand that Marco wasn’t like that at all. He was a professional photographer doing a job with me, and nothing more. Well, nothing more than a working, platonic friendship. He’d always been kind to me, and I liked working with Marco Carvaletti very much. I hoped Ethan could see it here tonight as we all interacted.

“It is, Marco, and I don’t think I could be any happier.” I leaned into Ethan, nudging him to speak up.

“Mr. Carvaletti, thank you for the invitation. We’ve been looking forward to this all day.” Ethan lied smoothly, offering his hand, playing the social gentleman to perfection, which he was well skilled at. I guess he did it out of love for me. I knew he didn’t want to be here anymore than he wanted me modeling. I mouthed a thank you only visible to him. He kissed me on the cheek and whispered in my ear, “Don’t forget about Simba, baby.” Then he wandered off to get drinks for us.

Marco took me on a tour of his elegantly restored 17th century villa as I marveled at all of the art. He had a whole room set up as a gallery of his photographs. There were a couple of me in there. One where I sat in a formal chair with one knee up, strategically placed, my expression far away and pensive. The other pose was a side view recreation of a vintage Ziegfeld Follies girl with a feather boa and some satin pumps. It was one of the first portraits I posed for and I really thought it was nicely choreographed.

“It is a beautiful piece, bella. I knew when we did that series you had the gift.” Marco stood behind me admiring the image he had created with me as the subject.

“I was so nervous posing, but you made me laugh when you told me to imagine Iggy Pop in a dress.” I shrugged. “That broke the ice and I was fine after that.”

“That one works for me every time, bella.”

“Well, Iggy Pop in a dress is funny, so good job, Marco.” We laughed together and made our way back to the main gathering.

Where was Ethan with my drink? I scanned the room for sight of him, but didn’t see his tall form standing out among the crowd anywhere. And I needed water.

“He is talking to Carolina and Rogelio, my friends,” Marco said, correctly reading my quest to find Ethan. “I believe they have discovered they are acquainted already.”

Really? Ethan knew people at this party? I suppose it wasn’t as bad as he’d predicted it would be after all. Couldn’t wait to bust him about his whining to come here.

“Oh, well that’s great. I look forward to meeting them. But first, I need to get some water. I’m really thirsty after spending a long time swimming in the ocean today. Must be all the salt.”

“Come with me, bella, I will take care of you.”

Yay! I was so excited for this book! Mucho thanks to The Book Avenue Crew for organizing this blog tour. If you're new to the Indie Author scene, Raine Miller's Blackstone Affair series is a definite must-read. I have been a Raine Miller fan since I first read Naked. Rare and Precious Things takes place after the suspenseful events of Eyes Wide Open. Ethan and Brynne's wedding finally takes place and I loved it! The entire thing was a romantic's wet dream! Vividly described and quite a scintillating wedding night scene between the two lovebirds had me blushing! The rest of the honeymoon was spent on the  Italian Riviera. A new character is introduced and I'm going to keep my eyes on that one; he's dangerous in a playboy sense. After a short period of marital bliss, our lovely couple finds themselves threatened once more by specters from the past. When will our favorite couple finally find some peace?!?!?! This book was a great addition to the Blackstone Affair series and I hope there's more to come from Raine's great storytelling. The book officially comes out on February 28th so click the links below to pre-order/order your copy today!!!!! Keep scrolling down to enter the giveaway for a 32 GB Ipad Mini, 1 SIGNED trio of paperbacks along with Cherry Girl, and 5 Amazon giftcards worth $10.

Ethan and Brynne are on their honeymoon

Icy drops falling onto my back brought me out of my floaty walk down memory lane. Ethan must have returned with my drink. I opened an eye and looked up at him blocking the sun from my body, not appreciating his shocking greeting, and taking in the stern expression on his face. God, he was a such beautiful man with his hard lines of muscle and golden skin. I could look at him for years and never be content with the looking. And the complete unconcern with what others might think of him made whatever the hell he was throwing off all the more attractive. Ethan was no pretty boy who got satisfaction from fawning admirers. And they were frickin everywhere. And not only women either. Plenty of men admired my husband too.

He was oblivious to it all. And he is all mine, people!

“What did you bring me, Mr. Blackstone?”

He ignored my question. “Time for more sun block, you’re getting a tad pink.”

“You’re just saying that so you can roam your hands all over me,” I said.

He dropped down next to my towel, raised a sexy eyebrow and gave me 'the look'. “You’re fucking right about that, my beauty.”

Bloggerversary Part Four: A Day in the Life of Raine by Raine Miller

at 9/18/2013 12:00:00 AM 13 comments
Ahoy there peeps! Today is day four in my week long bloggerversary event. And today we have a nice guest post from the author of the Blackstone Affair series, Raine Miller. Also be sure to enter my Bloggerversary giveaway for 3 different prize packs!  click here!
~*~A Day in the Life of Raine~*~

Hi, my name is Raine and I live a life I never dreamed I would be living just one year ago.  Let’s see, a typical day for me…hmmmm…it’s not pretty or glamorous and some days it’s not even fun.  Just be warned, okay?

6:30 am:  Woken up by Mr. Miller starting his day, wrasslin’ kids off to school.  Those would be the two youngest Millers: son #1-sixteen and son #2-thirteen.  I generally throw a pillow over my head and go back to sleep.

9:00 am:  Stumble downstairs for something to drink and possibly to eat.  Coffee is nice but not always a reality.  I might check the calendar attached to the fridge and pray I don’t have to be anywhere before noon.  I clean up well but it takes some time and elbow grease.

10:00 am– 5:00 pm:  A blur of battle ridiculousness and distraction between social media (take your pick of any and all) and attempts to write a book.  Throw in some domestic duties such as laundry, grocery shopping, cooking a meal, yard and pool stuff at random and inconvenient times to fill in the bulk of the day.  Oh, and phone calls that take up huge chunks of time and make it damn difficult to respond to Facebook chats typing one-handed while holding a phone with the other.
I have tried rearranging this hot mess of tasks but it always seems to morph back into the battle of ridiculousness described above.  I soldier on and try not to think about it too much.

5:00 – 7:00 pm:  Dinner and family hours-ish.  We try to eat together most nights.  It is a definite effort to make this happen.  The older everyone gets, the busier they become.  We have a new driver in the house and he apparently has places to be.  Those memorable family moments are when we are all together at the table and all on our phones at the same time.  #sacredfamilyhour

7:00 – 10:00 pm:  Raine’s Facebooking and general time to devote to the mighty god of time-sucking, black-hole-consumer-of-my-creative-energy.  This is when I have the most fun I’ve had all day long.  Lots of laughs and shocked disbelief in fully balanced proportions.  Social Retardation takes a dedicated effort, people!

10:00 pm – 2:00 am ish:  This is the time when I might actually get the best writing done of my day.  House is quiet, except for the night critters outside, ie. Coyotes on a mission, owls courting, and froggys flirting.  I can really let my creativity flow…well, I can if I don’t fall asleep in my chair with my finger poised on the /j/ key of my laptop and have filled 10 pages with them in my WIP.
I think it’s hell’a clear why I like to sleep until 9:00 am most days, don’t you?
Don’t judge me.  I am doing all of this for my fans.  Yup.  It’s totally true and I LOVE everything about my life behind the pen.  *eyebrow quirk like Ethan Blackstone*

(This Raine Miller Official Agenda is subject to alteration at an instant’s notice.)
Much Love!!
xxoo R

And now you know what Raine does at home. :) Raine was nice enough to put up a SIGNED copy of Naked with a matching velvet ribbon bookmark. This prize is separate from the SIGNED copy of Naked that I am giving away on my main bloggerversary giveaway. This giveaway is open to residents of USA only.

About the Author

Raine Miller is a New York Times bestselling author who likes to write romantic stories pretty much every chance she gets.  She has a handsome husband, and two amazing sons to keep her busy the rest of the time.  Her boys know she likes to write stories, but gratefully have never asked to read any.  Thank God!
I’ll leave you with a quote from a young man who didn’t live long enough to write more beautiful words for our continued enjoyment, dying tragically at only twenty-five years old.  One of the most brilliant romantic poets ever to walk this earth, his words continue to take my breath away.  This is from a letter he wrote to his fiance, Fanny Brawne.  He died before they could marry.

…I almost wish we were butterflies and liv’d but three summer days.  Three such days with you I could fill with more delight than fifty common years could ever contain.
---JOHN KEATS…1819.
