The Journey series continues with Book # 3. Chase and Leah have their happily ever after and Ally believed she did, too. But one day flips her whole world upside down and leaves her starting all over again. With a fresh slate, she’s determined to do something with her life and get back to her old carefree self that had disappeared over the years without her even realizing. Her journey is a bumpy one, but eventually life comes full circle. They say every bad ending is a new beginning, but will it be for Ally? (Can also be read as a stand-alone)

~*~Excerpt~*~

I checked my makeup one last time in the hallway mirror before I shut the door behind myself, fluffing my loosely curled hair. I felt professional and confident, for what was pretty much my first real job interview ever. Luckily, Remy left me her car since I had returned my rental after a few days of having it.

“Ally?” I heard that all too familiar voice as I rounded the corner to the parking lot, and I instantly stiffened, wanting to do nothing more than to turn right around and lock myself in the apartment. But I couldn’t get there fast enough.

I felt his hand land on my shoulder just as I tried to twist away. I reluctantly turned around, meeting those brown eyes that I thought I knew so well. Now all he looked like was a stranger.

“What are you doing here, Teddy?” I crossed my arms tightly over my chest, trying to look anywhere but straight at him.

“We’re just a couple of towns over, Al, you know that. It took me a while, but I tracked you down when you returned the rental. Why haven’t you answered any of my calls? I was worried as hell about you.” He reached out to brush his thumb across my cheek, but I quickly knocked his hand away.
Why had I used his dumb credit card for that rental car? I didn’t realize he was going to pull out some detective moves to track me down.

“Really? You were worried about me? That sounds awfully strange coming from someone who wasn’t so concerned about me when they were in bed with another girl.”

He let out a loud groan and moved a step closer, sucking in his lip ring as he did. “Al, you’re still my wife, and I’m always going to worry about you. That meant nothing; it was a lapse in judgment, nothing else. I swear.”

“Teddy, I don’t want to hear it.” I shoved past him, but I could feel that he was still following closely behind me. “I have somewhere to be, and I can’t be late. Just go back to your tour, and forget about me, because we’re done. There is no us, and there’s no going back.”

“Ally, you don’t mean that.” He grabbed onto the car door before I could slam it in his face and crouched down so we were face to face. His hand reached up to grip my chin and this time I didn’t twist away fast enough.

It was taking everything inside of me not to just give in. To forget everything that had happened, and start fresh. But I knew that there was no way in hell I could do that, because I would just be setting myself up to get hurt all over again.

“Please, Al, just one more chance. I swear I won’t mess this up.”

I swallowed over the thick lump in my throat, looking him straight in the eyes, to say that one word I still hadn’t been able to utter. “No, Teddy. It’s not going to happen. I want a divorce, and I want you to leave me alone. Is that really so much to ask after… after everything?”

Synopsis
“How Many Miles To Babylon?”

“Threescore and Ten.”

“Can I Get There by Candlelight?”

“Yes, and back again. If your heels be nimble and light, you may get there by candlelight.”

London 1891

Two boys meet in a foggy, darkened alleyway in London. Poised to fight, they recognize a quality in each other that stays their hands: they’re different. Not human. Well, not entirely, anyway. The universe, God, Kismet…something brought them together, forged a bond between them as strong as brothers’, and even they know it has to be for a reason.

London Present Day

Daniel and Kayden are cut from the same cloth. Their lives, their histories are so intertwined and tangled together that the last fifty years they’ve been at each other’s throats have seemed like an eternity. For Kayden, it’s been a punishment. For Daniel, a painful burden.

Now that circumstances have drawn them back to London once more, repairing the bridges they’d once burned to the ground is taking time. Time they don’t have.

Farley Hope is used to things going wrong. Epically wrong. A dead mother; a half-brother who recently went on a killing spree and refuses to come out of his room; a friend whose body has been hijacked by a malevolent, powerful being…

All of that would be bad enough, but considering her brooding boyfriend hasn’t brought up the fact that she agreed to marry him in weeks…her run of bad luck is really starting to take its toll. Things had better start looking up, otherwise her new-found powers are going to be put to use, and there’s no guaranteeing what will be getting blown up.

This is where it all began.
Where chance meetings set an unstoppable
chain of events in motion.
How a prophecy came to be realised.
How Lost Hope was found.

Sovereign Hope (Hope #1)
Soverign Hope

Everyone has a soul
Some are just worth more than others
Farley Hope was seventeen when her mother disappeared. In the last six months not much has changed, except that her eighteenth birthday came and went and still no sign of Moira. Her life is just as complicated as it always was. Since her father died in a car crash before she was even born, she’s officially parentless, and to top it all off she’s still suffering from the hallucinations. Mind-splitting, vivid hallucinations- the kind prone to induce night terrors and leave you whimpering under your covers like a baby.
The last thing on her mind is boys. Farley is on break from St. Judes’ when she meets Daniel. It’s not some casual run in at a party, or even a blind date with friends, though. Daniel is the guy following her in his 1970′s Dodge Charger; the guy standing at her window in the LA lunch hour traffic, trying to persuade her to leave everything behind and follow him. And he's hot as all hell.
The moment Farley lays eyes on Daniel, everything changes. He is cold and withdrawn, but there are cracks in his harsh veneer- cracks that betray the secrets he is trying so hard to hide. Farley is drawn into a world that will shake apart everything she thought she ever knew. There are truths out there that she must learn: that a person’s soul is their only real currency, and there are people who would do anything to take hers; that loving someone can hurt so much more than hating them; but, most importantly, when your future is predestined, there is little you can do to change it.
Farley Hope is prophesied.
Her coming has been awaited for hundreds of years.
She is destined to end the tyranny of the Soul Reavers.
To do so she must die.

Eternal Hope (Hope #2)
Eternal Hope

He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me
When your friends go missing and you don’t know if they’re dead or alive; when you tie your soul to the one you love; when you kill to protect and your family suffers, there’s only one thing you can do:
Move to Montana.
Farley Hope is special. She was prophesied to kill the forebears of her bloodline- a race of cold-blooded Reavers, men who steal the souls of the living to gain power. The Quorum had counted on Farley ending her own life in the process, but when Kayden came to her aid and helped save both her and Daniel, he undid their plans. Now the Quorum are displeased, not only with Kayden, but with Farley and Daniel too. Though her father is now dead, Farley’s troubles with the Reavers are far from over. An ancient Immortal, trapped for a thousand years, wants Farley for himself, and he will stop at nothing to claim her.
With secrets that lead to anger and pain, that turn friendship to dust, the group must overcome the problems within their own circle before they have a hope of fighting off the powers that threaten their lives.

We walk among you. Wherever your lives take you within this world, we are there, and we are many. We are not superior, we simply know more... far more... and none of you are safe.

Sam has always had the gift of reading auras and seeing future events. But since beginning college, her gifts are strengthening - becoming more foreboding. Dark visions she can't explain haunt her daily. She senses danger but doesn't know why. Meeting gorgeous Olympic swimming star Trin Kosolov, who shares her extra sensory abilities, only seems to intensify the imminent peril.

Sam soon discovers she was born with an identity she never knew she had and finds herself fighting for her life as she and Trin struggle to save humanity from an evil that could ultimately destroy them all.

Excerpt

Sam climbed out of the shower and dried off. She was confused, even angry. Never before had she sensed such conflicted energy in another person. What was wrong with him? Wrapped in a towel, she raced over to her dresser and began digging for clothes. Bra, underwear, jeans—she tossed it all onto her bed and made a beeline for her closet. Should she be offended? And that intensity…that wasn’t normal.
Sam had never been in love before, but this surpassed anything she had ever even heard of. Opening the closet door she found a shirt, pulled it from the hanger, and tossed it on the bed with everything else. She reached in the back, grabbing a jacket and threw it on the bed as well. Tossing the towel aside she began dressing with lightning speed, confusion and unanswered questions running through her head the entire time.
She didn’t know how much longer she could take this. She pulled her underwear on, then grabbed her bra. She let out an exasperated breath as she slipped her arms through the straps and reached back to fasten the hook. If something didn’t give soon—she stopped. Lifting her head toward her bedroom door, she focused. A familiar security swept through the room. Eyes still on the door, she grabbed for her robe and pulled it on. The short hemline and thin satin material didn’t conceal much, but her thoughts lay elsewhere, captivated by the glorious energy filling the room. Why was he back?
She crossed her room, following the energy to its source, the dormitory hall. Tying the sash, she moved to the front door, stopping in front of it. Heart hammering in her chest, she placed her hand on the doorknob and turned it. As the lock disengaged she cracked the door.
He stood, beautiful, frustrated, and still wet. One arm rested on the door jamb, head bowed as if he had been arguing with himself. His shirt clung to his muscled body, sun streaked hair damp and shaggy around his tanned face. At the sound of the door his thick black lashes lifted. He froze. His conflicted energy swept through her as his electric blue eyes scanned her body. Sam’s fist tightened around her sash, biting down on her bottom lip, barely able to breathe as his eyes traced every curve, revealing angst of unexpected erotic desire—and he found her eyes.
He had nothing left. Caught completely off guard, his strength broke, conflict won out. In all the moments leading up to this one…when she thought she needed him, he now realized how much he truly needed her.
Self-preservation flooded through him. His restraint, will power, every device he had ever used to control or extinguish his own needs and desires came crashing down around him before he even had a chance to engage them.
His initial reason for coming back vanished. Shoving the door open, he wrapped an arm around her, pulling her to him. He slammed the door shut. His lips pressed against hers, ravenous, taking what he needed. Nothing else mattered to him. Nothing.
Drawing him in, Sam’s fingers pushed through his hair, repressed desire set free, building with every touch, every caress. She molded to him as he lifted her against the wall. Liberating release flooded his veins, as if he were experiencing sunlight or truly breathing for the first time. Decadent power flowed unlike anything he had ever experienced. His lips left hers as he hungrily searched every aspect of her neck, his labored breath hot against her skin as he crushed her to him. She gasped, trying to find air—the way this felt—indescribable.
Energy in the room spiked as their auras merged, his energy fusing with hers.
Sam grabbed his dampened shirt, pushing it up his sculpted back, his powerful muscles moving beneath her hands as he helped her pull it over his head. Wanting more, hearts racing, blood pumping, her craving fingers explored his powerful chest, pushing past his naked shoulders, caressing his neck and lacing her fingers into his hair—she pulled.
Trin gasped, responding to the erotic pain, arousal flooding his body. He found her lips again, pursuing, pushing. Reason and reality had disappeared. Trin was taken, lost in the seduction of the woman he loved. Wherever her ravenous fingers went the tension, stress, and pressure melted away beneath them, erasing the pain, the doubt, and the crushing fear of defeat. He welcomed it.
A few broad strides to her room, back to the bed he had forced himself to leave only ten minutes earlier. His powerful body covered her, his soft lips moving passionately against hers.
A measurable physical science erupted within the room, elements working together in a feeding frenzy as preparation set in to ignite a power that had not been alive for a century.
Trin’s strong hand slid down the side of Sam’s body, his large fingers wrapped around her thigh pulling it up around his torso.
A voice—buried deep within the euphoria of the moment—nagging him.
Annoyed by the distraction he pushed it out, driven by his aching need for her. Never having experienced such power, he was unprepared to fight it, and in this moment he was unwilling to fight it.
Sam’s fingers pressed into his back, her breath sweet and inviting on his neck, the exhilarating warmth of her mouth tracing the length from his collar bone to his jaw line, then pulling his face back to hers, erotic softness of her lips molding to his over and over again.
Stop. Not yet.
His hand moved to the sash on her robe, pulling at the knot, loosening the tie.
You have not earned her yet!
Trin flinched—pausing, the words rattled him. His pumping heart forced labored breath as conflict and truth wrestled for his attention. She was his Goddess, his sacred prize, yet he had given her nothing.
Sam’s hand slid beneath the waistband of his jeans, pulling at the buttons. The sensation of her fingers yanked him back to her. A throaty groan escaped him as his lips covered hers. He pulled the sash loose, the warmth of her skin flooding him like a drug and he followed its beckoning pull.
Searing gold hummed around her, energy of living intelligence full of life and light—all elements positioned and ready to accomplish their reason for being: to ignite the Oracle power.
You will lose her!
“Sam, wait—” Trin stopped, catching her hand in an iron fist at his lower torso.

I have yet to read anything by Amy Freeman, but I am definitely a new follower. This book is about a girl named Sam who has the power to see auras. Right out of the gate things get seriously creepy. Sam, a ballet dancer, is attacked at the studio she dances in. She gets bashed up pretty bad, but she's saved by a spirit that appears out of nowhere. Sam seems to have some bearing on what her power pertain to, but this is just the start. We're introduced to Anna, Sam's BFF and roommate. She knows all about Sam's mojo and has her boyfriend, Vig, stay over to make sure no ghostly apparitions appear. And.....he's hot, rides a motorcycle, and he's in a band. He's the trifecta! ;) Sam and Anna are at one of Vig's gigs (haha) and we're introduced to Trin, hottie of the swim team. Their meeting is told from his perspective and it just so...(sigh). Trin seems to have similar powers to Sam and is more in the know of how to use the powers he has. It's absolute magic between Sam and Trin, I'd read this book for that alone. This book does have an interest plot as to what's in the supernatural realm that's hunting Sam and the mystery behind what she is. Definitely worth reading if you like paranormal romance.

Moon's Flower (Kingdom Series, Book 6)

Once upon a time, long, long ago a flower fairy looked up to the sky and dared to fall in love with the Man in the Moon…

excerpt
Jericho strode to the balustrade, gripping the gray stones with white knuckled intensity as he gazed downward through the canvas of darkness and pin bursts of stars, peering into the magical realm beneath him.

Moonglow lit his corner of the castle. Once, long ago, he’d been a shepherd riding the rugged and peaked plains of sheep country. Alive and normal. But everything changed the day he’d found her.

The beautifully stunning woman draped in a glowing gown of buttery gold.

He’d stopped in a sheltered grove to give his horse—Midnight—a chance to drink. That’s when he’d seen the blond haired goddess, she’d been dipping her toes in the pond. At the sight of her bare feet and the gown that had fitted her like second skin, he’d fallen immediately under her spell.

Her big, luminous tawny eyes had captivated him. The rosebud lips and high, slashing cheekbones. The slender column of her throat, every inch of her was built for seduction. Proper women of his day didn’t dress like her. Didn’t let the long length of their curls tumble down around the head and shoulders, or wear a diaphanous gown that hid nothing of the curves beneath.

If he’d been smart, he’d have known something wasn’t right about the woman in gold. But as was often the case with him back then, it’d merely taken the sight of a beautiful woman to make him forget every bit of common sense he’d ever possessed.

She’d opened her arms out to him and they’d slept together. He hadn’t known he’d be sealing his doom, hadn’t known that sleeping with the sun would burn… hadn’t known that things like fairy tales could actually exist.

Sighing, he peered into the endless expanse of sky, heart longing to see the bejeweled beauty of land.

Darkness, it belonged to him now. He could never walk the daylight hours. What Siria hadn’t told him when she’d taken him into her body was that she’d marked him, turned him into a man of myth and legend.

That every five hundred years a new man would be chosen. Jericho had gone from being a humble shepherd, to being the Man in the Moon. Locked away forever in this part of the castle. Only allowed to walk the land of Kingdom on the thirtieth day of the month, during the turning of the lunar cycle.

Only once a month could his feet touch land.

About the Author

This is the segment where you learn a little more about who I am, so here's what I can tell you:  I drink copious amounts of vitamin water placed precariously close to my laptop while writing. These are two healthy habits I have no intention of breaking. I'm a transplant living in the south, but I was born in the 70's to a military dad who moved us around the world.

When I'm not writing (which is all the time), I'm hunting down Indie music, watching movies, reading, eating Tex-Mex, discovering new ways to humiliate myself bowling, and burning up my laptop battery on the Internet. I have a relaxed, easy-going personality and don't like drama. I live with a cat who thinks she is a dog, or a goat (she eats plastic, so I'm not sure which).

Throughout my life, I've had insomnia. Counting sheep never worked and eventually I would imagine those sheep were the sole source of food after an apocalyptic battle where only thousands survived. I made up stories in a futile attempt to bore myself to sleep. The problem was, I got so wrapped up in my "head stories" that I would continue them through the following nights, changing it up each time to make it more exciting. Eventually, I started writing my ideas down - creating short stories, and then I discovered my love for poetry.

It's almost embarrassing how many spiral notebooks and stacks of paper I have of poetry and lyrics.

Another passion: digital art. I design all my book covers, marketing, and series art. I'm a very visual person and pursued photography as an avid hobby for many years.

I am not a YA author (I feel like I have to state this only because I've had a few people ask), but I think it's wonderful there are so many books available to teens in Urban Fantasy and Paranormal.

I am finally doing what I have always wanted to do: giving my characters a pulse through writing full time. I focus on adult urban fantasy romance, but I don't like labels and I enjoy blending genres to break out of the confines of predictability.

But it's what I love to do.
