The thrilling final installment of Chloe Neill’s New York Times bestselling urban fantasy series sees a sinister sorcery advancing across Chicago, and it may usher in the fall of Cadogan House…
Since the night of her brutal attack and unwilling transformation to vampire, Merit’s stood as Sentinel and protector of Chicago’s Cadogan House. She’s saved the Windy City from the forces of darkness time and again with her liege and lover, Ethan Sullivan, by her side.
When the House in infiltrated and Merit is attacked by a vampire seemingly under the sway of dark magic, Merit and Ethan realize the danger is closer than they could have ever imagined. As a malign sorcery spreads throughout the city, Merit must go to war against supernatural powers beyond her comprehension. It’s her last chance to save everything—and everyone—she loves.

This is it, you guys. It's the end of the Merit train. I started and stopped reading this book so many times, just to prolong the end. If you want to postpone the end, just a little bit, read Phantom Kiss; it's the novella before the last book. For all of the hardcore Chicagoland fans, we all know Merit and Ethan have had a tumultuous history together. Lots of ups and downs with a side of tears. Since this is the last book for Ethan and Merit, you know there's got to be a Big Bad Guy. With the Cadogan Vampires and allies at their back, Merit and Ethan will face this evil together. With familiar faces and fan favorite House members, this book was a satisfying ending to the Methan storyline. While I am sad that Ethan and Merit's story has come to a close, fear not! Chloe is working hard on a spin-off Chicagoland series and don't forget about her Devil's Isle series.
5 stars!

I haven't read any by Neill yet. I love UF books but just haven't seen hers yet. Always looking for something like Butcher's Dresden Files.
Yes definitely going to miss these characters
Thanks for the review and for sharing your opinion. I am really going to miss Ethan and Merit.
Absolutely! Not just them, though, I'll miss everyone! My Jeff, I'll miss my Jeff and Gabriel!
I know I am going to cry, I won't be able to help it. I started this series before book 7 was released and it's been one of my faves ever since. I'm just not ready. Also, I probably won't start it until I reread the whole series. lol
Awesome review! I'm glad you thought it was a good conclusion.
never read this series
Going to miss them sooooooo much!
I have loved this series from the start and it's so hard to see it end. I will miss Merit and Ethan and everyone a lot. But I look forward to seeing what other books and series Chloe Neill has planned.
