Since Merit was turned into a vampire, and the protector of Chicago's Cadogan House, it's been a wild ride. She and Master vampire Ethan Sullivan have helped make Cadogan's vampires the strongest in North America, and forged ties with paranormal folk of all breeds and creeds, living or dead...or both.
But now those alliances are about to be tested. A strange and twisted magic has ripped through the North American Central Pack, and Merit's closest friends are caught in the crosshairs. Gabriel Keene, the Pack Apex, looks to Merit and Ethan for help. But who--or what--could possibly be powerful enough to out-magic a shifter?
Merit is about to go toe to toe, and cold steel to cold heart, to find out.
I'm super excited to be a part of Chloe's blog tour for Wild Things!!! The tension is certainly high in this continuation of Merit and Ethan's story. At last we left off, The Cadogan House is still reeling from the consequences of their actions against the GP, but in Wild Things everything goes batshit crazy. Sups are going missing and this sparks a whole lot of tension, fear, anger and suspicion among the supernatural community. While this is going on Mayor Kowalcyzk is hell-bent on repairing her damaged credibility after the events of Biting Bad and she's using harsh tactics and brute force to make sure she stays on office. We see more Mallory and Catcher in this book than that previous book. Mallory and Merit's friendship is still a little awkward, but there were several moments of camaraderie. It was nice to see some of the progress the duo have been making towards repairing their relationship.
I have always loved the Chicagoland Vampires series and this book is no exception. There were some new and old additions to the cast, a sexy shifter who "cleans," a face from the past comes back to Chicago and the GP makes a play that no one could have expected. Like all of her previous works, there's snark, sarcasm, humor, love, and bad-assery from Cadogan House's own Sentinel. I especially loved the banter between Ethan and his Sentinel. I loved the plot of this book and there was a surprising turn of events, certainly one I didn't see coming. Loved, loved, loved this book like the rest of the books in the series. Congrats Chloe!
4.5 stars!!!!
Quickie Q&A
1) Will you write more novella-type stories for any of the other characters in the Chicagoland universe?
I'm not sure. There are plenty more novellas to write, but it depends on sales and the publisher's interest. And where the series goes in the next three books.2) Your cover for book ten (Blood Games) looks awesome! Who designs them?
3) Do you model any of your characters' personalities after people you know?

I don't just have one. I love Ethan, Merit, Catcher, Gabriel, Jeff. They're all so different and each of them make the series work. I can't wait to read this!
Thanks for the giveaway!
Favorite character? Ethan because he is everything an Alpha vampire male should be.....Great series and thanks you for the giveaway!
It is very hard to choose a favorite character in this series. This is probably one of my favorite series and I love all of the characters. If I had to choose one (other than the obvious), it would probably be Gabriel. He brings a little humor and mischief to the world.
I'm Team Jonah because there aren't enough red-headed heroes out there
It's hard to choose my favorite when there are so many to choose, but I will have to saw Merit. She is a tough kick butt heroine who is also compassionate
Love Methan and this series! Can't wait for Wild Things!
My favorite character is probably Jeff. Mostly because he's a comic/gaming geek and so am I. Also I love tigers.
it's a toss up between Ethan and Merit for me. I love the two of them together with Jeff coming in a close third. I love his geeky but tough ways!
Jeff is my fav. He is so sweet and smart and tough all at once.
I really like Malik. I wouldn't mind curling up with someone that loyal, obviously intelligent, and hawt. Yum!!
Don't have a fav
I am not sure, because I am new to this series!
My favorite would have to be Merit. She gas grown so much and even though life has thrown some curveballs at her she trudged on and got even stronger. Gabriel is a close second cause he's just yummy. :)
My favorite character is Ethan Sullivan, because I love vampires.
I've read up to book 3 so far, and I really like all the secondary characters. Especially meddling Lindsey.
I dont have a fav because I haven't read the series yet! But I will soon once I get started!!!
