A Vampire's Christmas Carol
by Cynthia Eden

This holiday season has bite.
Ben Prescott hates Christmas—he’s a vampire, and to him, there’s certainly nothing jolly about the holiday season.  While the humans are running around being merry, he’s hunting in the shadows.  Ben plans to spend the holidays his way…by stalking deadly prey.

But fate has other plans for Ben.
Three visitors are coming Ben’s way…A demon who will force  Ben to face his past, a ghost who will show Ben the present he could have, and a shifter  who will reveal the darkness that waits in Ben’s future. Unless Ben can change his ways, he may just turn into a real monster, one who can’t be saved by anyone or anything.

‘Tis the season…to be undead.
Ben’s redemption rests in the hands of the one woman he loved and lost—Simone Laurent.  If Ben is going to have a chance at being more than just the beast in the darkness, he has to prove himself to the lovely Simone.  A very hard task, considering that, once upon a Christmas Eve, Simone died in Ben’s arms…

Warning:
This book features one very tortured vampire, a sexy ghost from his past, and hot scenes designed to melt the winter snow. Plenty of action, adult situations, and steamy times are ahead. Happy holidays!

Review

This book was certainly not what I expected. It's a different kind of paranormal take on Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Our Scrooge in this version is the sexy, undead vampire by the name of Ben. Ben is suffering from the death of Simone, his one and only.  While everyone is off celebrating with family and loved ones, Ben is prowling the streets for anyone to deserves to be killed. Well, it's tough nuts for Ben. The powers that be have something else in store for him for Christmas and it starts with a visit from from peeps from his past. A trio of supernatural beings come together to help Ben get past his emotional trauma and hopefully direct him to make the right choices to a happier future. It was a great, novella-type read. The characters were worth investing in, emotionally.

Excerpt

The fire flared again, and in the next instant, William was right in front of Ben.
The demon was fast. “You should be more grateful. You’re immortal. One of the most powerful vampires I’ve ever come across. But you’re going down a dark and dangerous path, a path you don’t want to take.”
Ben offered him a grim smile. “It’s the only path for me.” Blood and death and demons. Yeah, that all seemed right.
“Once you wanted more.”  William grabbed Ben’s hand. The demon’s touch burned, and smoke rose from Ben’s skin. “You just need to remember that. Remember who you were before.”
Ben twisted his wrist, but, even with his vamp strength, he couldn’t break free from William’s hold.  “Let. Me. Go.” Or he’d be ripping the demon’s head off in the next five seconds.
“I’m the first visitor of the night.”
The first?
“There will be three, and in the end, the choice will be yours.”  William glared at
him. “But I’m telling you, asshole, make the right choice.
Ben flashed his fangs and went for the demon’s throat. He braced himself for the acid burn to come. He’d drunk from a demon before, and he knew that taste would be a real bitch.
Before his fangs could slice into William, flames erupted around them. Surrounded
them. And Ben knew he was about to die.

His last thought…

Blog Tour Promo Post: Falling For Him by Anne Conley

After eighteen years of marriage, Amy has finally found a man to talk to, and it’s not her husband. She’s tried everything she can think of to put the umph back into her marriage, but when she meets Cool_Hand_Luke in a movie chat room, he validates her thoughts and opinions in ways her husband seems incapable of. With the holidays fast approaching, my tries to hold herself together for her family, while simultaneously exploring her new online relationship. Will she meet him in real life? Or will she figure out how to save her own marriage? Find out in this Holiday novella from Serendipity, Texas.

~*~Excerpt~*~

Amy knocked on the door before entering and saw him at his computer.  He looked up, and guilt shadowed his features before he clicked his mouse, probably minimizing a screen and turned to her.
"Hey, what's up?"  He asked.
Amy walked over to him, holding out his drink.  "Nothing, I just brought you a drink.  Here."
"Thanks."  He took the offered drink and sipped it, gratefully.  Amy tentatively sat on the recliner facing his computer desk in the corner.
"What are you doing?"  Amy was trying to be conversational, but her tone of voice came off as more whiney than anything, and it disgusted her.
"Nothing.  Just surfing the web.  I don't have time for any of that stuff at work," he said flatly.
Trying to engage Bryan in conversation, she teased, "Any spicy pictures?"
Anger flashed in his eyes, and she immediately regretted her question.  "No.  I'm not looking at porn, Amy."
"I was joking, Bryan. Relax."  She took a sip of her whiskey and set her glass down before walking over behind the stool Bryan was sitting on and rubbing his shoulders.  "You just seem tense lately, that's all.  I was trying to loosen you up."  She stood close to him, as she rubbed his back, running her nails up and down it, before sending her hands back up to his neck to rub there.  She grazed his back with her hips, in an attempt to entice him a little.
"Yeah, work's been rough.  Deadlines and new clients."  He took another sip of his drink and said, "I'm going to join a gym and work out on my lunch break.  That might help some of the stress."
Jealousy and disappointment flashed through Amy, but she snuffed it out, forcing the tendrils of negative emotion down deep in her psyche.  She had suggested that they join a gym several years ago, in an effort to find something for them to do together.  Apparently, he didn’t remember that.  Forcing the hurt from her voice, she said, "That sounds like a good plan."  She rubbed his shoulders for a little while longer, but Bryan seemed to just get tenser.  So she stopped, feeling stupid.
"Well, I'll let you get back to surfing."  She left to go finish the dishes, wondering what exactly he was looking at online.  If not porn, then what?  She wouldn't really care if he was looking at porn, she'd been known to do it a time or two, herself.  She was glad that he was doing something about his stress level, even if it did mean that he wouldn't be coming home for lunch any more, but she couldn't help but feel like he was trying to spend less time with her.  And it hurt.

I raise goats. I raise children. I write. I don't do any of it well, but I try to have fun with all of it. And I read. I'm not too terribly technologically savvy, but I'm working on that. My life is a continual work in progress. And when it gets to be
too much for me (quite frequently, I'm a little embarrassed to say) I read some more.

Santa's Wayward Elf Full
synopsis
Being one of Santa’s elves isn’t all sugar plums and candy canes.

At least not for Sosie. Taller than the other elves, she’s always had a problem fitting in at the North Pole, so when the transport sled she’s on breaks down in New York City on Christmas Eve, she can’t resist slipping away to explore the world of the “big people.” While she’s having fun, the transport sled takes off, leaving the naïve elf stranded.

Fortunately, handsome police detective Derek Clayton comes to her rescue, offering to let her stay at his apartment. Having heard horror stories about the big people, Sosie is both surprised and relieved to meet such a kind, sweet man. Not to mention one so gorgeous and well-built.

Even though Sosie expects the North Pole to send out a search party any day, she finds herself falling for Derek anyway. She desperately wants to tell him she’s an elf, but knows he’ll never believe her. When the lies and omissions start to pile up, Derek can draw only one conclusion—Sosie is working for the mob boss he’s been after for years.

Just when things seem like they can’t get any worse, the chief of elfin security shows up to drag Sosie back to the North Pole. How is a runaway elf supposed to overcome a determined security elf, dangerous mobsters and a suspicious boyfriend all while keeping her pointed ears a secret?
